Have a stone countertop question? We have the answer at Graniteman Countertops Inc. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • What is granite?

Granite is a natural stone made up of various mineral composites. Its durability and inherent beauty make it an excellent choice for countertops. As a natural material, each granite slab possesses unique characteristics, despite similarities within the same lot.

  • What is marble?

Marble is an elegant natural stone that, while less durable than granite, offers a more consistent and visually appealing color and texture.
  • What is quartz?

Quartz is an engineered stone that, although less durable than granite, provides a wider range of color options and more uniform patterns.
  • Do you work with any other stones?

In addition to granite, marble and quartzite, we also offer quartz and engineered stones such as Cambria, Silestone and Hanstone.

  • Where will the seams be?

After our team completes the measurements, we create a template. Customers are then invited to our facility for a layout session, where they can select the optimal areas of the stone for individual pieces and determine seam placement if necessary.

  • Do you caulk granite to the wall?

Our process does not involve caulking granite to walls. Instead, we secure the countertops to the cabinets and apply caulk to join splashes with the countertops.
  • Do you reconnect the plumbing?

Our services do not include plumbing reconnection. We recommend you keep the plumbing disconnected for 24 hours to ensure proper drying of the silicone around the sink area.

  • How long does the sealer last?

The sealer typically remains effective for approximately one year, depending on countertop usage frequency and cleaning products employed. Graniteman Countertops offers resealing services and can provide guidance on purchasing the appropriate product for self-application. We are also available to advise on optimal cleaning methods.

  • How long should you wait to use counters after sealing them?

Following the installation and sealing of natural stone surfaces, we recommend waiting 24 hours before using the countertops to ensure optimal results.
  • What is the process from start to finish?

    The typical purchasing process involves:

    1. Stone or quartz selection
    2. Field measure appointment scheduling
    3. Quote provision (usually within 24 hours post-measurement)
    4. Paperwork signing and 50% deposit payment
    5. Optional layout session at our facility
    6. Installation date confirmation
    7. Fabrication and installation of countertops
    8. Final 50% payment
